In April of 2010 federal law requires that individuals receive certain information before renovating six square feet or more of painted services in a room for interior projects or more than twenty square feet of painted surfaces for exterior projects in houses built in or before 1978.
Also, beginning in April, federal law requires contractors that disturb lead-based paint in homes built in or before 1978 to be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
Jeremiah Johnson, owner of Johnson Paint Company Group, Inc., is a lead based paint certified contractor. Upon beginning a lead based paint job he will provide you with all necessary information about practices to prevent lead based paint contamination.
If your home was built in or before 1978 and you’d like more information please visit www.epa.gov/lead.
